Steam Growth
Reading Steam wishlist growth clearly
Steamworks can show exactly what changed. It cannot automatically tell you why it changed.
A wishlist spike can coincide with creator coverage, a festival placement, press, paid traffic, a demo update, external social activity or several things at once. That is why campaign reporting should record dates and external events alongside Steam movement.
Use observed metrics precisely: wishlist additions, deletions, balance, regions, countries and daily curves. Then add attribution language only when source/timing evidence supports it.
This distinction makes reporting more credible. “Steamworks recorded 855 additions on this date” is a fact. “Our campaign caused all 855” is a separate claim that needs separate evidence.
