Creator Strategy
When long-form YouTube beats short-form
Short-form wins when the game's value is immediately visual. Long-form wins when the interesting part is understanding a system.
Chess, TFT, tactical decision-making, buildcraft and complex roguelike interactions often need context. The viewer cares about why a decision worked, not only the final animation.
That changes creator scouting. Instead of searching only by game genre, look for creators whose videos already explain strategy, analyze decisions, teach systems or build narratives around runs.
Long-form also changes the pitch. Give the creator a video premise, not just a Steam key: a challenge, a build question, an unusual strategic rule or a mechanic worth explaining.
